Digital Transformation School

At Craighouse School, Digital Transformation in Education drives the integration of technology into teaching and administration, enhancing learning, supporting teachers and improving institutional efficiency.

We aspire to be a "Beacon School" in Chile, empowering pupils to become creative and innovative individuals, ready to face future challenges.

We guide our students in developing as Digital Citizens, following the standards of ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) and the principles of Common Sense Education, promoting the responsible and ethical use of technology.

We inspire them to recognise their rights, responsibilities, and the opportunities offered by the interconnected digital world. We guide them to act safely, legally, and ethically online, integrating both educational perspectives into their digital behaviour.

The development of digital citizenship addresses Digital Coexistence primarily through the Formative Curriculum and the Technology subject.

Artificial Intelligence has not been left behind. Starting in 2025, parents of pupils from Year 3 to Year 7 will need to authorise the use of AI tools that have been carefully selected by the school's Academic Directorate and are used under teacher supervision. Younger year groups will not use AI.

As a means of supporting innovation and fostering creativity,

the school provides ...

Mobile labs from Pre-Kinder to Year 6 and implements a 'Bring Your Own Device' policy from Year 7 to Year 12.

Starting in 2025, Year 7 pupils will receive a Chromebook on loan as a learning support resource, which will accompany them at least until Year 10.

A 'Maker Space' room equipped with digital technologies such as a laser cutter, 3D printers, robotics, the Internet of Things, and basic electronics with Arduino. This space promotes the use of technology, product creation, prototyping, interdisciplinary work, and collaboration between Middle and Senior teachers and pupils.

In Primary (Pre-Kinder to Year 4), it offers a STEAM room designed for interdisciplinary work across Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

At Craighouse, we enhance student-centred methodologies

With the Digital Age Student Profile (ISTE, 2016) as a pillar, we establish a clear direction for developing skills in those who live in a technological, global, interconnected, and constantly evolving world.

These standards coexist with the International Baccalaureate student profile and the Craighouse School learner profile, placing our pupils at the centre of their learning and strengthening the integration of technology.

The process of digital transformation in education

has helped us attain remarkable milestones.

A team of five mentors (technology coaches) with ISTE certification, who model, among other things, the integration of technology in the classroom for teachers.

We have successfully unified our teachers' technological knowledge:

  • 98% of our teachers hold the Google Education Level 1 Certification.

  • Four teachers have obtained the Google Education Level 2 Certification.

Successful participation of our pupils presenting projects at the ISTE Annual Conference 2023 and 2024, held in Philadelphia and Denver (United States), respectively.

We promote the implementation of technology use in the classroom under the SAMR model at its highest levels, where appropriate, to support differentiation.
