Inquiry Centre
Library
Welcome to the Inquiry Centre!
Our work as librarians of the Inquiry Centre is focused on preparing our pupils to be informed citizens, with a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and values that enable them to face future challenges with confidence and excellence.
Primary
The Primary Section’s Inquiry Centre is located in the Year 3 and 4 building, separate from the Middle and Senior Inquiry Centres.
It holds nearly 10,000 titles, organised into 15 collections, which pupils can access depending on their level, unit requirements, or personal reading preferences.
Every week, inquiry-based activities are carried out for each year group according to their unit learning objectives. These include the use of technology, storytelling sessions, and product creation.
Users: Prekinder to year 4 pupils.
Location: First floor of the Year 3 and 4 building. Its named after Joan Darling, our school founder.

MIDDLE and SENIOR
The Middle Section’s Inquiry Centre provides pupils with a space for exploration aligned with the MYP programme, supporting research projects, promoting reading engagement, and offering book lending services.
In the Senior Section, it is designed to meet pupils' needs with a strong emphasis on the IB Diploma Programme. It provides the necessary resources for pupils to maximise their potential, fostering inquiry, academic integrity, and a love for reading.

Its design facilitates and encourages the delivery of classes, as well as academic and cultural activities. It features open shelving, allowing pupils to develop autonomy in information searching and a love for reading.
Users: Pupils from Year 5 to Year 8 in Middle, and from Year 9 to Year 12 in Senior.
Location: It is located just steps from Reception and is named after Charles T. Darling, our school founder.

Regarding the collection, the Middle and Senior sections share the General Collection, which consists of approximately 10,000 titles in total, including the books from the Robin Darling Collection.
This collection is organised by area of knowledge, allowing the inquiry process to be carried out in an academic, structured, and systematic manner.
Each section has its respective Reading Plan for Spanish and English, which are physically separated on the shelves, making access to the relevant materials direct and efficient.
