IB School
Craighouse School has been an IB World School for more than 30 years and during this time we have developed our programmes to the point where we can all be proud of Craighouse as the leading IB school in Chile.
The IB is an international non-profit organisation that was founded in 1968. Today it is known for its educational excellence, connecting nearly 2 million students in more than 5,000 schools across over 150 countries/territories.
The IB programmes are designed to offer significant advantages over other curricula, shaping inquisitive, well-informed, committed, compassionate pupils who are prepared to achieve success in a globalised environment.
Craighouse is authorised to offer three IB programmes and we follow the IB Continuum throughout all our levels and grades:

The Primary
Years Programme
PYP, marks the start of a lifelong journey. It develops caring and culturally aware children aged 3 to 11 to become active participants in their own learning.

The Middle
Years Programme
MYP, is designed for pupils aged 11 to 16. Builds a solid academic foundation and develops students’ confidence in managing their own learning and making connections between their learning in the classroom and the real world.

The Diploma
Programme
DP; is the gold standard international programme for students from 16 to 19 years that nurtures their creativity, fosters their desire to learn, and prepares them to excel in their careers and adult lives.
IB Learner Profile
The IB learner profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. The profile aims to develop learners who are: Inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.
What opportunities does the IB Programme offer
for our pupils?
Our graduates leave school prepared to study, to create and to contribute to society achieving their personal academic goals at universities in Chile and across the world.
In Chile, the IB Diploma is becoming another means of entry to Chilean universities.
Currently, 20 national universities offer this option for some of their programs

CAS
Creativity, Activity and Service
CAS stands for Creativity, Activity and Service. It is a key subject within the IB Diploma Programme.
It is characterised by a constant pursuit of new challenges that enhance pupils' skill development, promoting social causes that inspire them to create a better world.
We hope that every project we undertake leaves a meaningful mark on our CAS pupils, fostering empathy and encouraging them to become true agents of change.
