British English Olympics (BEO)

This is a high-profile and prestigious academic competition held over two weeks during Easter at some of the most renowned boarding schools in the United Kingdom. It is a trip for our Year 10 pupils, who travel to the UK to compete in a series of academic challenges while also having the opportunity to learn about British culture and history as they explore some of its most iconic landmarks.

INTER CAS

The study trip for the International Baccalaureate Diploma subject CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) takes place every year during the second semester. Its objective is to create a sustainable impact through intercultural and transformative experiences, engaging in enriching activities that inspire students, foster creativity, and generate long-term benefits for the environment and the communities they collaborate with.

The ISTE Conference brings together experts, educators, and industry leaders to share innovative presentations, networking opportunities, and access to cutting-edge technological solutions. It takes place every year during the first semester.

In 2023, pupils from Craighouse School underwent a rigorous selection process, becoming the first Chilean students to present at this prestigious event. Through our participation in this conference, we have established ourselves as a model school in digital transformation and innovation in student-centred practices.

LAHC conference

The Latin American Heads Conference (LAHC) is a group of schools represented by their headteachers, committed to 'sharing experience for school improvement.'

The Annual Conference brings together headteachers, school leaders, and students from across the region to discuss key educational topics and share successful initiatives from member schools. It takes place in a friendly environment that fosters a special relationship of trust and confidence, which is essential for the rest of LAHC’s activities.

UK STUDY TRIP

The UK Study Trip is a three-week journey undertaken by Year 7 pupils in the middle of the year. The delegation typically stays on a university campus in London. As in previous years, the visit includes an intensive English course delivered by Greenwich International Education.

During their stay, they explore London and visit landmarks such as the Natural History Museum, the British Museum, London Zoo, Hyde Park, and enjoy the panoramic views from the London Eye. They also experience the performing arts by attending The Lion King musical and even take a cruise along the River Thames.

In addition, they visit cities such as Bath, where they explore the Roman Baths, discover the ancient ruins of Stonehenge, tour the prestigious universities of Cambridge and Oxford, and visit Windsor with its impressive castle, as well as the city of Bristol.

Approximately every two years, during the second semester, a group of Senior Section pupils travels to New York (United States) to take part in the IB Diploma Cultural Arts Academic Trip.

In previous years, this cultural experience has included visits to iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the World Trade Center, Times Square, Lincoln Center, the Empire State Building, Radio City Music Hall, Grand Central Station, and Central Park, among others. Additionally, they have explored renowned museums, including the MET, MoMA, Guggenheim, and the Museum of Natural History.

In past trips, they have also been welcomed at the New School of Jazz and enjoyed Broadway musicals.
